Mission
To challenge high school varsity basketball student-athletes to inspire teammates, classmates and community members to better the communities in which they live using leadership skills and abilities.

About the Qwest Leadership Challenge™
The Phoenix Suns and Qwest Communications offer the Qwest Leadership Challenge™ as leadership development program for high school varsity basketball athletes in Arizona. The program promotes and inspires involvement in charitable causes and rewards community service.

Students in the 2008 and 2009 graduating classes who have participated on a varsity high school basektball team, boys or girls, are eligible to participate in the Qwest Leadership Challenge™.

Students in the Qwest Leadership Challenge™ will compete for one of two (2) $5,000 college scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded based on the students’ exemplary services, leadership and commitment to their communities as demonstrated through their Qwest Leadership Challenge™ project.

Each Qwest Leadership Challenge™ student will complete a community based leadership service project that includes 30 volunteer hours of combined service to a non-profit or school related cause.
